This is to inform all categories of students of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK) that the university senate has approved the resumption date for the continuation of academic activities.
UDUSOK Resumption Date Notice
In compliance with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s directive, the University Management has announced the Institution’s reopening for both physical and digital academic activities beginning Monday, 25th January 2021. No student will be allowed into the Halls of residence earlier than Sunday 24, 2021. Every student is expected to sign an undertaking that he will abide by COVID-19 protocols while he/she is on campus. The form for the undertaking can be found on the University website. A completed hard copy should be submitted to the Dean Student Affairs Handwashing materials will be provided at the hostels’ lecture theatres.
Libraries. Laboratories, recreational areas, and worship places. Students are advised to wash their hands regularly. Students are to come along with a sizable number of facemasks, either reusable or disposable. The facemasks shall be used avidly within and outside the University premises. Please be informed that no student will be allowed into lecture halls. Hostels, libraries, Laboratories, or any recreational area without a face mask
Each student is advised to come along with enough hand that sanitiser will permit him to sanitize his her hand as regularly as possible.
To avoid congestion and to ensure physical distancing in the halls of residence, all visitors and squatters are prohibited from entering all the hostels until further notice. All social gatherings of more than 10 people are henceforth prohibited on the university’s two campuses until further notice.
At the lecture Halls, lecturers will ensure social distancing that is practically possible, and students are advised to ensure windows are widely opened for cross ventilation.
The Health Services Department has made provision for a holding bay at the Health Centre. It has also made provision for antigen screening test kits for Covid-19, thus suspected cases among students will be screened at Health Center and confirmed cases would be referred for treatment at the University Teaching Hospital. Please be informed that the financial cost of treatment will be born by the student and his family because the existing Health Insurance policy for the students does not cover treatment for epidemic diseases, including Covid-19.
